这是一篇从北航教授江兴流的真空零点能角度介绍冷聚变的文章，思路非常新颖。 1989年3月，美国化学家弗雷希曼和庞斯宣布他们用钯电极在常温下电解重水，观察到了异常的热量输出和少量的中子。该现象一经公布就在全世界范围内引起了一场轩然大波。 由于当初的实验用的是重水和钯电极，这很容易给人以错觉，认为这种电化学异常现象就是核现象。因此大部分研究者都在寻求“冷核聚变”的核解释，但在理论上遇到了强大的阻力，进展甚微。 江兴流基于实验结果，以电极的尖端效应为突破口，分析了电化学异常现象。在电解实验中，江兴流科研组观察到在电极尖端处出现瞬变涡旋结构，利用CR-39固体径迹探测器记录到高度定向的核反应径迹，以及过热、核嬗变、滞后效应等。 “气体放电、真空击穿及液体中的放电（电解）现象，有着共同的物理规律：由于电解过程中电极表面尖端效应产生的聚能过程，在电极表面局部产生气泡和涡旋运动，气泡的产生和坍塌过程将发生动态卡西米尔效应而提取零点能并以热能的方式释放出来；同时涡旋运动与零点能形成挠场相干而提取零点能，一方面释放热能，另一方面形成类星体涡旋结构，在涡旋中心产生高能射线、中子和高能粒子，并伴有高度定向的核反应。”江兴流说。 可见电极表面尖端处形成远离平衡态的非线性体系，满足一定的条件就会形成自组织的正反馈涡旋，通过挠场机制提取零点能。从而可以看出“冷核聚变”中的“过热”，在考虑零点能的提取后不应再被视为过热，因为此时它并不违反能量守恒定律。 1989年5月份，江兴流通过实验证明了自己的猜想，6月份，他把实验结果写成论文向世界上最权威的科学杂志之一《自然》投稿，这篇论文曾被《自然》杂志审稿人推荐发表。 一个异常物理现象的破解，可以动摇一个理论体系，冷核聚变现象的研究正处于这种状况。江兴流通过大量的实验发现，低能核反应是存在的，例如，元素的化学态影响该同位素的半衰期；电化学过程中的核现象；高密度电荷团引发的核嬗变；燃烧过程中的核产物；生物体内的核过程等等。德国冯纽曼研究所的杜尔等人用大型计算机计算的结果表明，物质只不过是真空涨落的产物。质子中的3个夸克的总质量只有质子的质量的1% 。基于对真空零点能的研究，我们相信，所谓的“冷核聚变”现象是零点能的一种表现。
